Lisa Gay Mathis-Bunyard

Lisa Gay Mathis-Bunyard promoted to heaven on September 8, 2022. She was born November 25, 1963, to Jerry B. and Peggy McRorey Bunyard (deceased).

Lisa is survived by her son and family: Peyton, Paige and granddaughter Presley Hinds; her brother and family: Gary, Zachary (Courtnee) & Harrison Bunyard; nieces: Bailey (Ryan) Hammans, and Sawyer (Nathan) Lewis with Beckett Brandon Lewis joining the family on September 8, 2022.

Lisa was preceded in death by Lance Mathis (husband); Mark Bunyard (brother); and her grandparents: Evelyn McRorey and J.G. & Mattie Bunyard.

Lisa graduated from San Angelo Central High School and Angelo State University (ASU) School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She held positions at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo and Breckenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.

Lisa loved people and was a sweet, kind, and loving person. She was baptized in Christ at the First Baptist Church of San Angelo on September 2, 1973. Lisa held on to her faith and is now free from the worldly woes to have happy visits with her Savior, her mom Peggy, her brother Mark, her husband Lance, and her grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family requests memorials be made to Meals for the Elderly or West Texas Boys Ranch.
