Lorri June Martin, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, at the age of 67, while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 1, 1959 in San Angelo, Texas, to parents Doris June Prine and James Elmer Killam.
Lorri was the oldest of four children; herself, JoAnn Doris Killam-Eriksson, James Monroe (“Teeny”) Killam, and Stella Jeneece (“Neece”) Killam-Smith. She was always known for being the girl with a heart of pure gold, always willing to help anyone in need.
Lorri attended elementary school in San Angelo, then junior high and high school in Robert Lee, where she met Jimmy Wayne Martin. They began to date as teenagers, and later married in 1977. They had officially been married for 49 years this past August. Anyone who knew them could easily tell that they were meant to be soulmates.
Lorri worked at Myers Drug Store in San Angelo, Texas for over two decades, where she retired. She was deeply loved and admired by both her coworkers and the community who walked in to be greeted with her smile and sweet spirit. She had previously worked in Abilene at a greenhouse, where her love for flowers and plants never ceased. She also enjoyed attending farmers markets and spending time outside admiring nature and taking pictures.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Martin, 68, of San Angelo, Texas. He vowed to love her forever as he embraced her for the last time; her 3 children (all boys): Christopher Wayne Martin of San Angelo, William Monroe Martin and wife Angela Renee Martin of Andrews, and Matthew Alan Martin, husband of Andrea Martin who currently reside in Oregon and Judy Copeland and husband John.
She also led the way to heaven for her two other sisters, JoAnn Eriksson, and Stella, and brother-in-law, Walter David (“Dave”) Smith.
She was the proud grandmother to Will and Angela’s two children: Abigail (“Abby”) Rose and Grayson Conner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Kris Eriksson (son to JoAnn and Leif Eriksson), spouse Mary, and their children Autumn and Kristofer (“Tofer”) Courtney Killam-Pope (daughter to James Monroe and Melinda Stanley) and her husband, Kris Pope, with son Kamden James Pope, John Smith and Amanda Smith-Gomez (to Dave and Stella), her husband Jerry Gomez, and their daughter Emery Sky Gomez. She also has several cousins, including Kenneth Prine of Robert Lee, and a countless number of beloved friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and James, along with her younger brother, James Monroe (“Teeny”) Killam.
Lorri had the best sense of humor and thrived off of the sarcasm that she and her family entertained throughout her lifetime. There were ongoing jokes made about her height (or lack-there-of), and nonstop laughs for sentimental reminders of loved ones. She was given the nickname “Aunt Boo Boo” by Amanda, due to her falling once and having a bruise on her thigh. She was also teased by family because as a form of punishment when she babysat, she would occasionally have kids sit in time out and face their reflection in a microwave. The family joked that they hope there are no microwaves in heaven. She loved the beautiful simplicity of all that life had to offer, finding peace and contentment in embracing all the little moments that so many others take for granted. She was a simple woman who never required much, and that was one of the most beautiful things about her.
Her celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6, at 11am in Sanco, Texas at Sanco Cemetery where her brother and parents are buried. Viewing and Visitation will be on Thursday, November 5, at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo from 8am-7pm.
To honor her legacy, the family is asking for donations towards West Texas Rehab’s Hospice Care or to go towards any Cancer Research of your choosing.
