Marianna “Anna” Munn, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in San Angelo, Texas, on June 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born on August 24, 1943, in Meridian, Texas, to Marvin and Ruth Smith. As a young woman, she met the love of her life, Harold Wayne Munn, at the Dairy Queen drive-in in Kermit, Texas. Anna was 17 and Harold was 20 when their story began. They were married on September 17, 1960, in Kermit, and would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this September.
Shortly after their marriage, Wayne entered the Air Force, and together they began a lifetime of adventure. Over the years, they made their home in several Texas communities, including Big Spring, Kermit, Jal, Midkiff, Garden City, and Sonora, eventually settling in San Angelo around 2004. Through every move and every chapter, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Alongside them for many of these chapters were several couples of lifelong friends, with whom they shared countless adventures, deep laughter, and irreplaceable memories.
Anna was a dedicated homemaker and later worked as a real estate agent. She also spent many years working alongside Wayne in ranching, embracing the demands of hard work without hesitation. Strong, resilient, and full of determination, she built a life defined by both grit and grace.
Upon moving to San Angelo, Anna and Wayne joined the Christian Church of San Angelo. The congregation quickly became much more than a place of worship; they became true family. Over the years, this community supported, befriended, and loved them, growing into a beloved circle of extended family that brought immense joy to Anna’s life.
Anna loved life and lived it fully. She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball and even played in an adult volleyball league. She cherished traveling with Wayne and treasured camping trips with her children and grandchildren. She loved gathering with family and friends and was always ready for a celebration. Anna also enjoyed visiting the casino and playing the slot machines, as well as playing a good game of cards or dominos with friends. She had a joyful spirit that made her the life of every party she attended.
Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She and Wayne spent decades creating immeasurable memories filled with love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Anna is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Wayne Munn; Her sons, Todd Munn and wife Pamela, and Dean Munn and wife Anna. Her grandchildren: Alicia Singleton and husband Jason, Shannon Macias and husband David, Brandon Munn and wife Shae, Bryan Munn and wife LaShea, and Breanne Schniers and husband Brandon. Her cherished great-grandchildren: Janeen, Cameron, and Carter Singleton, Conner and Abigail Gill, Brylea Robinson and Barbra Rains, Willow and Theo Munn, Haislee, Hartley, and Huckston Schniers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ruth Smith, and her great-grandsons, Brayden Munn and Noah Munn
Anna’s life was a legacy of strength, laughter, devotion, and unconditional love. She leaves behind generations who will carry forward her memory and the values she lived every day. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and presence will continue to live on in all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Christian Church of San Angelo. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Anna’s beautiful life and legacy.
