Marjorie Ann Hoelscher

September 9, 1939 — November 11, 2018

Marjorie Ann Hoelscher, 79, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord peacefully on November 11, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the second child of seven born on September 9, 1939 to Florine (Moeller) and Herbert Hoelscher. She grew up in San Angelo, Texas and had a wonderful childhood helping raise her younger siblings, working on the farm completing all of the daily chores, and riding with her daddy in the truck checking on the fields. When Margie was 14, she met the love of her life, Frankie Hoelscher, and was married on June 18, 1958 at the age of 18. They were blessed with 60 wonderful years together. They proceeded to have five boys and fostered a little girl for several months. Margie LOVED traveling and visited numerous places in the United States, as well as different countries with her husband, Frankie at her side. She especially enjoyed spending time at their second home in Box Canyon on Lake Amistad where many memories were made with family and friends. She enjoyed tending to her plants around the house and had quite the green thumb. In earlier years, she was part of the Fairview 4H Club that led her to become a talented seamstress. She cherished her time with the “Busy Bees” quilting group where many quilts were intricately made for themselves, family, and the church festival. Margie also enjoyed her monthly visits with her beloved Bunko group and Sunday night dominoes with friends. She will forever be remembered and cherished by her family and friends. Margie was preceded in death by her two sons, Allen Wayne and Randal Wade, her parents, Florine and Herbert Hoelscher, and two brothers-in-law, Ray Gene Hoelscher and Wilbert Hoelscher. She is survived by husband Frankie Hoelscher; son Rodney Hoelscher and wife Kerri of San Angelo; son Greg Hoelscher and wife Debra of San Angelo; and son Keith Hoelscher of San Angelo; her eight grandchildren, Courtney Halfmann and husband Hayden, Cole Hoelscher, Slayton Hoelscher and wife Abby, Sawyer Hoelscher, Gage Hoelscher, Kanton Hoelscher, Katie Hoelscher, and Levi Hoelscher; one great-grandchild, Reece Halfmann, who she lovingly got to see and hold several times. Other survivors include brother Clifford Hoelscher and wife Joyce Ann of St. Lawrence/San Angelo, sister Dorothy Kvapil and husband Howard of San Angelo, brother Dwane Hoelscher and wife Janell of San Angelo, sister Sandra Couey and husband Steve of Junction, brother Jerry Hoelscher and wife Arlene of San Angelo, brother Steven Hoelscher and wife Jennifer of San Angelo, and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, TX. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her six grandsons Cole Hoelscher, Slayton Hoelscher, Sawyer Hoelscher, Gage Hoelscher, Kanton Hoelscher, Levi Hoelscher and grandson-in-law, Hayden Halfmann. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s Hospice of San Angelo and the numerous people that helped care for her in many ways. Donations may be made to Hospice in her honor.
