Mary Anna Allen

Mary Anna Allen, 68, of San Angelo passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Fort Worth.

Mary was born on November 26, 1955, to J Marvin and Irene Allen in San Angelo. After she graduated from Central High School, she attended Angelo State and Texas Tech Universities where she earned multiple Master’s and Doctorate degrees. Upon graduation, she moved back to San Angelo to teach elementary age children at SAISD and retired after 39 years of service. She not only worked for SAISD, but also Rivercrest Hospital and owned her own in-home day care center.

Mary had a love for teaching, but also sewing, cooking, baking, and music. She had the biggest heart and an affinity for unusual pets. Her smile was contagious, and she could light up anyone’s day. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Allen.

Mary is survived by her two children, Amelia Teague and husband, Dalton of San Angelo, and Martha Wilkinson of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Claire, Jaxxon, Aiden, Persephone, Eoghan, and Skylar; numerous nieces and nephews; and special long time friend, Gwyn Parker and her amazing family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Johnson Street Church of Christ.
