Mary Elizabeth Weber passed away on Sunday morning, November 11, 2018, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on January 8, 1938 in Abilene, Texas. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized as a young girl. Growing up, she lived in Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan; she graduated from Abilene High School in 1955. After graduating from high school, she worked at the Paramount Theater in Abilene, where she met her future husband. She married Willis Weber on May 18, 1956 in Weatherford, Texas, and they had two sons, Scott and Greg. Mary and Willis lived in Abilene, San Angelo, and then Brownfield before returning to San Angelo in 1967. Mary was a homemaker when the boys were young, but returned to work at GTE in San Angelo, where she retired in 1992. Mary and Willis enjoyed playing bridge and participated in several bridge marathons and countless bridge evenings with friends over the years. When the boys were young, they enjoyed family trips to New Braunfels with the Hornes, Farrs, Scotts and other families each summer. Later, Mary and Willis enjoyed trips to Ruidoso. Mary enjoyed crafts, crocheting, shopping and baking. Every year for the Christmas holidays, Mary made caramel nut candy and other goodies for family and friends, and she made the best pound cake. She loved life, loved to laugh, loved her family, loved Christmas stockings, liked receiving but loved giving, loved her friends, and loved being a Grandma. Her granddaughters remember well their summer camps with Grandma and Granddad, where they learned to bake and crochet, went fishing and swimming, and rode the rides at Neff’s Amusement Park. Mary has left behind many fond memories for her family and friends, and we will miss her dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Mary and L. J. Watson, husband of 54 years Willis Weber, and sister Beverly Ragsdale. She is survived by sons Scott Weber (Cynthia) and Greg Weber (Diane); granddaughters Leigh Ellen Garcia (Carlos), Elizabeth Weber, and Chelsea (Landon) Lindley; and great-grandchildren Graham Lindley and Mia Garcia. A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Harper Funeral Home. The Graveside will be held 11:00am, Friday, November 16th at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
