Matthew Daniel Housley

Matthew Daniel Housley, age 46, of San Angelo, TX passed away from this earth on January 27, 2022, in San Angelo. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He had many friends and never met a stranger. Matt was born in Jonesboro, AR on July 13, 1975, to Edward and Marsha Housley. He grew up on the farm in Jonesboro, AR, until the age of 8, making many memories with his cousins and getting into lots of mischief. The family moved to San Angelo in 1984 and Matt graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1994 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas at Dallas. In 1995, Matt moved to Dallas and started working for Housley Communications on the construction crew. He worked his way up at Housley Communications to become a Vice President, having 28 years of service. Matt loved to hunt and fish with his dad and son. He was a proud father and had many cherished memories with his son Grayson. He served on the boards of West Texas Boys Ranch and Sonrisas Trails. Being active on the San Angelo Rodeo Committee brought Matt much joy and was a major reason he loved being a resident of San Angelo after living in Wylie, TX for 19 years. He was a long-time member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. He is survived by his fiancé Mary Butler, son Grayson Housley, parents Edward and Marsha Housley, Sister Heidi Williams and husband Jacob, niece Jody Carson, nephews Joshua Williams, Will Carson and Luke Williams, great niece Knoxley Carson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved dog Copper. The visitation will be on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Harper Funeral Home. His funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11:00AM at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church and the burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Memorials can be made to West Texas Boys Ranch, Sonrisas, or Sierra Vista United Methodist Church.
