Matthew Blake Hightower, of San Angelo, passed away on July 17, 2026 at the age of 37. Matthew was born in Midland, Texas on December 17, 1988. Treasured by his parents, Blake and Janie (Enmon) Hightower, and adored by his sister, Heather, Matthew had a childhood filled with all of the things little boys love best: climbing trees, playing possum, swimming, and playing with his beloved dogs to name a few. Matthew became a talented tennis player and an avid outdoorsman; he also thrived in several positions in the oil and gas field across the Permian Basin. His smile, easygoing personality, and intelligence won him many friends and the respect of those he worked with. He will always be remembered by those who loved him best as a thoughtful and kind man, the best friend, cousin, nephew, grandson, brother, and son.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Blake and Janie Hightower, his grandparents Patty Venske-Flud, Joanna Gruerio, Jerry Enmon, and Donna Enmon, his sister, Heather Moreno, his brother-in-law Ramiro Moreno Jr., his nieces and nephew Isabella, Landry, and Sofia, and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Matthew is predeceased by his grandparents Jack Hightower, Tommy Flud, and Anthony Gruerio.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX, officiated by Steven Hightower at 1:30 PM.
