Nickey Lavonne Grady

Nickey Lavonne Grady of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on June 3, 2026. A native of San Angelo, Nickey was known for her free spirit, warm heart, and love of life. She found joy in dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her laughter, kindness, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nickey was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Bell Sampson; her sister, Dorothy Sampson; her brothers, Freeman Sampson and Kenneth Grady; her sister-in-law, Lillian Sampson; and her niece, Sonia Sampson and her nephew Christopher Craig Sampson

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children: Joseph Clay, Angela Grady, and Jerome Grady. She is also survived by her nieces, Michelle Sampson, Anesia Sampson, and Vanessa Sampson.

Nickey's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Keason Thorne, Kadin Weldon, Krisjian Weldon, Olivia Weldon, Ja'Quori Clay, Asija Clay, Josiah Clay and Dakota Christopher Grady. Her great nephew Kaleb Carroll, and great niece Laila Sampson and Le’Trece Sampson.

Nickey's love for her family, her joyful spirit, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
