Norma Jane Busby, of San Angelo, was welcomed into the loving arms of her savior on May 21,2026 at the age of 92. She was born on July 17, 1933, in Waco, TX, to parents James and Bessie Motis.
Norma was an only child who was deeply loved by her parents. Norma grew up in Waco and West Texas. Norma graduated from West high school. After high school Norma married Lloyd J. Turner who was in the Air Force. Norma and Lloyd had two children Michelle and Mike. Norma was a devoted loving mother who always put her family first. Norma’s primary occupation was in sales. She sold cosmetics for most of her career in Austin, TX. Till her death she put makeup on every morning and anti-wrinkle cream every night. After her sales career she served as a secretary in an architectural firm in Waco, TX.
After many years Norma married Robert Busby, who she knew for many years while growing up. Norma inherited a large extended family who she loved as her own. Norma was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She loved cooking and was the best at it. Norma cooked for every holiday including birthdays and everyone was always welcome. Norma loved to crochet and in her later years made many blankets for the staff at Regency Nursing Home. Norma also enjoyed sewing and had a very green thumb.
Being called Meme brought her the greatest joy in life. Michon, her granddaughter, was the love of her life. When Michon was growing up she never missed an event. She was so proud of Michon and always wanted to know when she was coming for a visit. Norma (Meme) is survived by her daughter Michelle and granddaughter Michon.
Norma is preceded in death by Lloyd Turner, Robert Busby, Denise Busby, Bobby Busby, and her loving son-in-law Red Gerhart.
There will be a celebration of Meme’s life at a later date.
We would like to thank Dr. John Hunt for his many years of caring for Norma at Regency. The family would also like to thank Dr. Che Ornelas and the Shannon ER, ICU and 6 West for caring for Meme in her final hours. A special thank you to Chaplain Stan at Shannon for his support, strength, and guidance during this tough time.
Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
