Oneta Jo (Nana) Foster

January 17, 1930 — February 19, 2022

Jo Foster, 92, most lovingly known as Nana, peacefully passed from this life to her heavenly home on February 19, 2022. Jo was born to Mamie Ruth and Jesse Dean Reeves in Maverick, Texas on January 17, 1930. Jo married the love of her life, Jessie Quinton (Bubba) Foster in Sterling City, Texas, on October 4, 1946. They were married 45 years and ranched in Broome, Texas Jo and Bubba made many friends throughout the years. From Kingsland to Sonora to Ruidoso, New Mexico. Ruidoso became Jo's second home and she never missed a racing season. Horse racing was a passion. She loved the Ruidoso Jockey Club and they loved her. She loved her family more than anything. Her heart was full when her children, grand-children and great-grands came and filled her home. She had the most beautiful smile anytime any family member showed up at her doorstep. She had a very special relationship with her big sister Ruth and husband Bill Jones. They made many memories together. Jo was lovingly known as "Nana" by her grand and great-grand children. She was adored and loved by them and shared that same love. She was their #1 Fan and Cheerleader!! Jo was the matriarch of the Foster/Jones Family Reunion. She looked forward to hosting or joining together with all 100 plus nieces, nephews, cousins twice a year. She was very independent, very reserved, and very loved by her entire extended family. Visitation is from 5:00-6:30p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Sterling City. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the church. Burial will follow at Foster Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and JD Reeves, her husband, Bubba Foster, her sister, Ruth Jones, and her grand-daughter, Jamielou Foster. Survived by her three sons, Mike and wife Jakie, Gary and wife Cindy, and Pat and wife Dawn. Grand-children Todd and April Foster, Kim and Scotty Johnson, Robbie and Mike Knittel, Cari and Douglas Miller, Michelle and Quinton Foster, Shandee and Zachary Foster. Great-grands Blaine and Kennedy Foster, Ashtin, Cross and Allie Knittel, Kaden (Kenly), Kiely, Kas Johnson, Jhett and Elizabeth Hart, Maverick Miller, Ryder and Rowelee Foster and Lainey Foster. Plus a great-great grandson due in July, Baby Boy Johnson. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Nana's loving caregivers, Tammy Bessent, Misty Moore and Patti Knowlsar and Johni Bishop. Also, Kindred Hospice. Memorial Donations may be made to SCFUMC-PreSchool, Sterling County Nursing Home or a charity of your choice. Nana loved her Lord and Savior and her Church.
