Patricia Dee (Hester) Steele, 82 passed away on July 3rd at her home in San Angelo Texas. Pat was born in San Angelo to Dee and Eulla Mae Hester and grew up on their family farm six miles east of Eola, Texas. She went to the Eola school for 12 years before attending the two year San Angelo Collage. Pat continued her education at Texas State University where she received her Bachelors degree in English and Speech. She went on to teach in several Texas school districts until her retirement in 1998. Her love for the classroom continued to thrive as a volunteer educator teaching “English as a Second Language” through church and community outreach programs in the Ft. Worth area for several years.

Pat married Jim Steele on June 24th 1967 in the Eola Methodist Church where Pat was an active member and where Jim would attend services when visiting his Grandfather in Eola. Together they had one son, Bobby Dee Steele, in 1980. Pat is survived by her husband Jim, son Bobby, grandchildren Ryan Steele, Makenzy Sparks, Ava Steele, Grace Hipp and Sutton Geronimo as well as four great grandchildren.

Pat will be buried in the Eden Cemetery next to her parents on July 11th, 2026. The graveside service will begin at 1pm and everyone is invited to attend. We are asking that in lieu of flowers that you send a donation to one of the many worthy children’s charities. Pat spent her life enriching the lives of children and I can think of no better way to honor her than that.
