Peggy S. Epley passed from this life into the arms of her loving Savior, May 26, 2018. She was born May 7, 1933 in Flag Pond, Tennessee. She was proceeded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sams, her son John Epley, her brother-in-law Lewis Runion, and nephew Mark Runion. She is survived by her son Mike Epley and wife Gina; one grandson Michael and three granddaughters Sara, Shelby, and Abby; one sister Betty Runion; nephews Tim Runion and wife Bridgett, Jonathan Runion and wife Sara, and their children Cheney and Hendrix , and Andrew Runion and wife Holly, and their child Carter Runion. Peggy graduated from Unicoi County High School and East Tennessee State University with a degree in Physical Education. She later went back to her high school and taught Physical Education for five years. She moved to Hollywood, Florida with her husband, Ken Epley and taught for nine years. Peggy was a charter member of Southland Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir for many years and was a deacon. Peggy was an avid sports fan. She loved the Cowboys, Rangers, and the Mavericks. She also played basketball in high school and played tennis until a few years ago. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cared for neighbors and her church family. She loved to cook, bake, and make pralines. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Southland Baptist Church with Jill Fulghum officiating.
