It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rebeca “Becky” Fuentes Kuykendall, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2026. Rebeca was born on July 27, 1960, to her loving parents, Humberto and Maria Fuentes.
She grew up and lived her entire life in Christoval, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, abuela, aunt, and friend to many. Rebeca loved her hometown of Christoval and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Deeply committed to serving others, she served on the Christoval Water Board, the Christoval School Board, and was actively involved in the PTO. She dedicated 26 years to the Better Business Bureau, serving as CEO for her final two years. Rebeca also served as treasurer for the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department. She cherished the opportunity to help people, support her community, and be part of something bigger than herself. A natural-born leader who guided others with an open heart, Rebeca never gave up on her family or the causes she championed. Through her love for ranching she instilled that same determination, resilience, and love in her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Humberto Lopez Fuentes and Maria de los Angeles Aguirre Fuentes; close family friends, Clayton Lee “Hap” McMillan; Clarice Atkins McMillan; and Bobbie Stultz McMillan.
She is survived by her husband, William Dana Kuykendall; her son, Matthew Ray Kuykendall, and his wife, Katy Quanz Kuykendall, along with their children, Kacelyn Rae Kuykendall and Kadence Diane Kuykendall; her daughter, Victoria Kuykendall Hudgins, and her children, Elena Maria Valdez and Cheyenne Rose Hudgins; and her sister, Maria Marta Lopez.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 21st at 10:00 am at the Ivy Cemetery in Christoval, Tx. A memorial service will immediately follow at the Christoval Community Center. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Christoval Volunteer Fire Department or the Better Business Bureau of San Angelo.
