On December 20, 2018 our beloved husband, daddy and grandfather, Richard Creed Hasty, left his earthly home just a few days after he celebrated his 87th birthday with family and friends. He was born on December 11, 1931 in San Angelo to Corrine and Creed Hasty. He will be greatly missed. In 1953 Richard met and married his one true love, Mary Sue Mallow. Their union of 69 years was blessed with three daughters, Venessa Sue Hasty, Vickie Lynne Fowler and Valerie Priess (Skip). Richard was a graduate of Lake View High School and attended Angelo State University. He graduated from Howard Payne College in Brownwood, Texas and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later taught school in Pecos, Texas and at Lake View High School in San Angelo. He also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and went on to retire from there. After his retirement, he enjoyed being home with his family and all the many animals that he nurtured and cared for. He also delighted in lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Corrine and Creed Hasty; his son in law, Ricky Fowler of San Angelo, Texas; Grandchildren, Allison Paige Bozeman of San Antonio, Texas and Cody Wayne Porter of San Angelo, Texas; Brothers, Kenneth Hasty and Donald Hasty; Sisters, Martha Ann Rannefeld and Margaret Ellen Ashley; Brothers-in-law, Vernon Rannefeld, Bill Swearingen, Otis Green, David Ryan, and Alfred Ashley. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Hasty; his daughters, Vanessa Sue Hasty, Vickie Lynn Fowler and Valerie Allison-Priess (Skip) all of San Angelo; his Grandchildren, Lindsey and John Biggs of Boerne, Texas, Courtnie Sue and John Wood, Erik and Cara Fowler and Erika Fowler all of San Angelo. He is also survived by his Great Grandchildren, Artemis Bozeman and Briar Biggs of Boerne, Texas, David and Jordan Wood, Noah and Levi Fowler, J. T. and Madison Jones all of San Angelo. Richard is survived by his sisters, Norma Martin (Gerald) and Carol Swearingin and Mary Ryan (E.B.); Sister-in-law, Freddine Hasty of Sterling City, Texas; Brothers, Johnny Hasty and Brother-in-law, Lee Leland. He is also survived by two lifelong friends, Mac and Ann McDonald and their family. A private service will be held at a later date.
