In Loving Memory of Ricky Don Donaldson

Ricky Don Donaldson, 58, of Paint Rock, Texas, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Born in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and a graduate of Springtown High School, Ricky was a true jack of all trades. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before dedicating his life to his family, his community, and the work he loved. Whether welding, ranching, or lending a hand wherever it was needed, Ricky took pride in doing a job well and helping others along the way. He also had the honor of serving the community of Paint Rock as mayor.

A lifelong outdoorsman, Ricky loved hunting, fishing, taxidermy, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His generous heart, quick smile, and willingness to help those in need left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Ricky’s dedication to service extended through Freemasonry, where he served as Past Master of Paint Rock Lodge No. 613, District Deputy Grand Master, and District Communications Officer for District 105. He was also a 32° Scottish Rite Mason, a Noble of the Suez Shriners in San Angelo, and a proud member of the Texas Taxidermy Association.

For 17 years, Ricky shared his life with his devoted partner, Angela Havlak. He proudly considered Jessie and Kari and Travis and Vanessa to be his children and was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Ricky was born to Wayne Donaldson and Sandy Fritz and is also survived by his sister, DeeDee, and his brother, Royce.

Though he is gone from our sight, his kindness, servant’s heart, and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten.
