Robin Evans Williams

October 24, 1978 — February 20, 2023

Robin Evans Williams, Irving, Texas

Robin, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Monday, February 20th at age 44 in Irving, Texas.

Robin was born in San Angelo on October 24, 1978, to Sharon & Robert Evans. She was the second of three children and spent her childhood in San Angelo. She earned her bachelor's degree from Angelo State University.

Robin married Elijah Dan Williams in Morton, Texas in 2003 and held managerial finance positions in Oklahoma, California, Missouri, Utah, and South Carolina as Elijah received promotions that required their relocation.

Finally, they returned to Texas and settled in the Dallas - Ft. Worth Metroplex where Robin had the opportunity to advance in her financial career as Senior Vice President of Credit at Susser Bank. At the time of her death, she was extremely pleased with her work, and she deeply admired her mentors, Bennett Carter and Sam Susser, and looked forward to her future with Susser Bank

Robin loved beach getaways and she and Elijah took one or two every year. Together, they proved their unique ability to renovate and decorate homes as they moved around the country. Many friendships endured these moves.

Robin had a sense of style that made it possible for her to be comfortable in any situation. She had the unique ability to go from beach to the pool table to the boardroom and occasional gala. In part, she owed her confidence to then CEO, Dal DeWees, who sought her out for her first banking position as a drive thru teller.

Her enthusiasm for life made it difficult for most to believe that her entire adulthood was challenged by a very rare life-threatening illness. We credit Dr. Christopher Vanderzant and Dr. G. S. Ramesh for early diagnosis of this disease. She and Elijah aggressively managed and fought her disease throughout their marriage. Their greatest support came from Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was treated and followed by a team of elite specialists led by Dr. James Church, who is now retired.

Robin was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert Evans, grandmother, Lee Green, grandfather, Fred Green, step grandmother Thelma Green, stepfather, Lee Sanders, half-brother Steven Evans and Uncle Michael Green.

She is survived by her sister and best friend, LeAnn Hays, her mother and champion, Sharon Evans Lykins, her loving stepfather Doyle Lykins, brother, Gerrit Van Dyl, ex-husband and friend Elijah Williams, nephews Willam Van Dyl, Ethan Ludwig, Grayson Hays & Christian Hays, aunt, Patty Jones (Robert), and namesake Robin Gulvin. Her stepbrothers Dirk Lykins (Melody), Devin Lykins and Chris Lykins (Tiffany) half-sisters Jenny Rasmussen (Lyle) and Julie Ellison (Gary.} She is also survived by the children and grandchildren of those listed above.
