Rose Slone Doyle

September 28, 1925 — June 17, 2026

San Angelo

Rose Slone Doyle, age 100, passed from this life into Eternity with Jesus Christ on June 17th , 2026. The first of 6 children, she was born in Gouldbusk, Texas on September 28, 1925 to Claude and Lee Slone and grew up with her family in Coleman County attending school in Mozelle. On April 21, 1947, she married K.G.Doyle while living in Eldorado, Texas and soon afterward began a life filled with adventure as the two of them travelled the world pursuing the oilfields abroad. They lived in Libya, Iran, Venezuela, Indonesia, Egypt and Sumatra but Eldorado was their home.

Being a long-time member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church, her greatest passion in life was her faith in Christ and then her love for her family. She was truly a “Proverbs 31” wife and Mother and was a loyal friend to so many who knew her. Rose will always be fondly remembered as an accomplished golfer and as one who never missed an opportunity to laugh and love. She was the epitome of a wonderful Wife and Mother, a true friend, hard worker, adoring Nana, and she never lost that ability to” just be a kid” which endeared her to so many.

Preceding her in passing were her Husband K.G.Doyle, her parents, her brother James Slone and wife, Melba, her sister Ethel Fay Poe and husband Al, her sister Betty McMillan and husband Oles, her brother Jack Slone and wife Elane, brother- in-law Cotton Clark, and her son-in-law George Draper.

Her loving survivors include her sister Peggy Clark of Mansfield, Texas, daughter Joan Draper of San Angelo, Joan’s sons Shaun Bishop of San Angelo and Chad (Mary) Bishop of Leander, Joan’s stepdaughters, Tobi Draper and Shay (Lee) Draper and Shay’s daughter Ashley. Also surviving are her son Wayne (Bridget) Doyle of San Angelo and his children Will Doyle of San Angelo and Claire Doyle of Denver, Colorado, Wayne’s stepchildren Kristi Davis and Eastland (Busra) Davis. Rose’s great grandchildren, Kelsey Bishop, Ryan Bishop, Savannah Bishop, and Merritt Doyle. Also her step- great great grand children, Anthony and Kalyssa Quintana, and Brayson, Kinslee, and Asher Kelly along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Glen Meadows Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 29, 2026.
