Roy Afton Long

Afton was born February 22, 1951, the 5th of 8 children to Neoma and Shorty Long. He was a lifelong resident of San Angelo.

Afton was a used car salesman in his early years before owning and operating his own wrecker service. During this time, he made many lifelong friends.

Afton was preceded in death by his parents, Neoma and Shorty Long. Daughters, Mitzi Long and Cara Long, Sisters Edna Young and Maxine Lohse and Brother, Teddy Long.

Afton is survived by sons, Brian Long, Michael (Tisha) Long, Phillip Long. Daughters Kiri "George" Long and Tamara Del Bosque. Sisters, Ava (Gary) Hunt and Zena Williamson. Brothers, Aubrey Long and Clifford (Roberta) Long. He was the proud poppa of 11 grandkids Dylan Walter, Allison Adams, Tyler Long, Kody Keeling, Garret Long, Ashlyn Long, Sarah Long, Blake Long, Baylei Del Bosque, Mckinlei Lynch, Taelyn Rose and 2 great grandkids Carsyn McGuffin and Reagan Adames, Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

If you were lucky enough to know Afton, then you know he never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was so loved and will be missed by many.

Pallbearers will include Kaden Walter, Jess Williamson, Randall McAllister, Matt Hill, Jason Burns, Zach Hill.

A Visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2022. A funeral service will be held at Harper Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Friday October 21, 2022.
