Roy Clinton McIntyre, age 90, passed away April 10, 2026 in San Angelo, Texas.
Roy was born January 25, 1936, 20 miles south/west of Paint Rock, Texas to Lee Roy and Vada Crumbley McIntyre.
After graduating high school Roy joined the United States Air Force in 1956. He then served four years before being honorably discharged in 1960.
He was one of the mechanics responsible for installing ejection seats in the Lockheed U2, commonly known as the Dragon Lady.
On May 7, 1966 in Clovis, New Mexico he married Fern Cross. Roy and Fern settled in San Angelo, Texas, where he worked at Wendland Manufacturing for more than 40 years. Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Fern, parents Lee Roy and Vada, one brother, Billy, and one sister, Barbara.
He is survived by one sister Nelda, and two brothers, Bennie and Dale, and numerous nieces and nephews.
