Scott Blaine Jones, age 19, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his residence in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Scott was born on November 29, 2005, in Midland County, Texas. He later moved to Rapid City, South Dakota, where he began work operating heavy equipment—an occupation perfectly suited to his lifelong love of dirt and machinery. From childhood on, Scott loved all things dirt-related: eating dirt, playing in it, racing dirt bikes across it, moving it with his Big Green Tractor, or climbing onto any piece of equipment he could. He also enjoyed the thrill of riding bulls in the arena.

Scott approached life with enthusiasm, humor, and a spirit that lit up every room he entered. He was always ready with a joke, a story, or a laugh, and his lively personality endeared him to all who knew him. Though he could be a handful at times, that spirited energy only made him even more deeply loved. His family and friends will forever picture him riding fast on his dirt bikes and tractors.

Scott is survived by his father, Paul Jones (Michelle) of San Angelo; his mother, Lori Brooks (Tim) of Eldorado; and his siblings: Stormi Browder (Sam) of Abilene, Taylor Younts (Josh) of Christoval, Skyler Browder of Big Lake, Michael (MC) Fry of San Angelo, Autumn Brooks (Anthony)of Hopewell, VA., Avery Brooks, of Waco, Faith Brooks, of Colorado Springs, CO., Colten Hauschild of Boerne, Cody Hauschild of Midland, Bryan Dunn of San Antonio and Bree Dunn of Midland. He is also survived by his grandparents Terry (Pop) and Lori (Mammie) Jones of Big Lake; Gary (Papa) and Kathy (Nana) Carter of San Angelo, Rita (Grandma Rita) West (Matt) of San Angelo, and Mandy and Randy Brooks, of McCamey, TX.

Scott is remembered by his special nephews, Lukas Weatherby and Asher Younts; his special niece, Lakelyn Younts; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by Idell(Nanny)Gibson, J.B. (PePaw)Gibson, Clifford (Grandpa Tall Boy)West, Dee(Grandma D) West, Tobe (Grandpa) Browder; Ruth (Mimi) Guess; Norman (PaPa) Guess; Wade (PawPaw) Jones; and Larue (Grandma Rue) Jones.

The family extends a heartfelt and special thanks to Juan Sanchez, Scott’s roommate and close friend, for his friendship, support, and kindness during Scott’s time in Nebraska and Rapid City.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support extended during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and cousin.
