Shirley Jean Fox

Born Shirley Jean Murphy on November 11,1941 to Nolan Travis Murphy and Lora May Murphy, Shirley left this world on July 7, 2025, to be with God. Shirley was Married in 1958 to James Edgar Fox. They had three children together, which were loved dearly.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, father, her husband James, and 2 siblings Travis Murphy and Geraldine Zipper.

She is survived by her Children; James (Jim) Nolan Fox of San Angelo, Robert Lynn Fox of San Angelo, and Sharon Denice Brown-Fox and Sharon's husband Vernon, five grandchildren Chastidy Walker of San Angelo, Darla Walker of San Angelo, Hazalynn Walker of San Angelo, James Walker of San Angelo, and Crystal King of Cherryvale Kansas. Nine great grandchildren; Mackenzie, McKayla, Alyssa, A.J., Hunter, Victoria, Aaliyah, Brody, and Hadley.

Shirley worked most of her adult life in many different fields. She was a waitress at McIntyre Restaurant and Otis's Drive-In, a hairdresser, worked many years at Hudman's Pharmacy, and finished out her work history impacting many lives as a Kitchen Supervisor and Culinary Teacher at Tom Green County jail.

Not only was she an awesome mom, grandma, and great grandma, but she was known far and wide by many whom lovingly called her 'Gram'. She was the truest model of a Christian woman. She would help the lowliest of us try to get our lives on track. She would give her last morsal of food, give shelter, give a hug, and never pass judgement on anyone.

Shirley will be missed but wants all to know that she will see us again someday. Keep a smile in your heart. Be kind to everyone you meet. Try not to judge. Help wherever you can. Do all these things to honor Gram and know that she is forever with everyone she ever knew.

A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Conner officiating.
