Stephen Thomas Capers, 49, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his residence. Stephen was born on July 1, 1969 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Fredie and Lyn Hefner Capers. He was the only boy of four children. He was raised in Fort Stockton and graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1987. He attended Odessa College where he earned his Nursing Degree. He married Rosario Rodriguez on December 10, 1994 in Fort Stockton, and they had two children together. He worked for several years at the State School in Carlsbad, Texas but most recently worked as a Volunteer for the San Angelo Police Department and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and to tell corny jokes. He will be remembered as the “best brother a girl could have”. He is preceded in death by a son, Houston Capers, and sister, Trisha Capers. He is survived by his wife Rosie, children; Heather Sanchez and Zachery Capers, grandchildren; Addyson, Alyvia, and Amaya Sanchez, parents; Fredie and Lyn Capers, sisters; Cathy Wilcox and Kimberly Capers, nieces and nephews; Misty Del Angel, Leslie Markiel, Krysten Wilcox and Austin Wilcox, pets; Pebbles and Panchito, and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2019 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Lopez of SAPD officiating. “Remember me though I have to say goodbye, Remember me, Don’t let it make you cry, For even if I’m far away I hold you in my heart.”
