Sue Vaun Owens

September 26, 1942 — February 7, 2023

SueVaun Haynes Owen's, 80 , of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 7th 2023 in San Angelo

SueVaun was born on September 26,1942 to William and Loraine Haley Haynes in Sanderson Texas . Sue Vaun was raised in Sanderson and graduated from Sanderson High School in 1961.

After high school she worked at the Big Bend National Park and as a Southwestern Bell Telephone Operater in Del Rio. She met and later married the love of her lifetime Frank Owens while in Del Rio and they shared 57 years together and raised two children.

SueVaun was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of San Angelo Apostolic Church and loved her church family dearly. She was a person that was quick to hit her knees and pray for someone in need, often waking her family in the middle of the night as she walked the floors talking to God.

After marriage, Sue Vaun was a full time housewife and mother. She loved her grandkids and her dog Bo Bo most of all.

Her greatest enjoyment was watching her grandsons at whatever they were doing. (Except hunting her squirrels) She was quick to tell anyone how great her grandsons were..

SueVaun loved food of any sort. And in fact left this world Hangry over not getting to eat her breakfast or lunch before surgery. She loved to bake sweets and hide them from the boys. Only to enjoy it tremendously when they found them.

She was a collector of pretty things like her porcelain birds and cookie jars.

SueVaun was an artist. She was able to draw beautiful pictures. When she would draw or color her shaking would stop. It was very peaceful to her. She might not sign a legible check but could draw a gorgeous rose. She spent many hours coloring, especially after the passing of her husband .

Her coloring books will be placed on a table at the community center and we would like each person to pick a page she colored as a reminder of the Beauty that life holds.

Things will not be the same without Nana to make the many daily phone calls or fuss over something her boys were doing. SueVauns tremendous love of God and her family will live on in our hearts forever. We will miss her dearly!

SueVaun was proceeded in death by her parents William and Loraine Haynes of Sanderson. Her husband, Henry Frank Owens and Son Brian Dwayne Owens., her brother Haley Haynes.

SueVaun is survived by her daughter Stacy Wilcox, and husband Gregg, her two grandsons: Brayden and Brendon Wilcox all of San Angelo. Her two brothers Glenn Haynes of Dallas, Dennis Haynes of Midland, and her sister Jolynn Grayson of  Marlin Texas. And many nephews and neices.
