Thomas "Tommy" Harrison Beauchamp

December 17, 1932 — January 6, 2026

San Angelo, TX

Thomas Harrison Beauchamp, lovingly known as “Tommy” and cherished by many as “Papa,” passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on January 6, 2026, at the age of 93.

Papa was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mary Elizabeth and Ora Harrison Beauchamp, and his younger brother, Ted Beauchamp.

He is survived by his adoring and devoted wife of 74 beautiful years, Edith “JoAnn” Beauchamp, whom he admired deeply and loved with his whole heart.

He is also survived by his three children: Kathy and Bennie Green, Karen and Gary Dillon, Thomas Harrison Beauchamp II and wife Senisa Beauchamp. Papa leaves behind a treasured legacy through his grandchildren: Brian and Misty Dillon, Jodi and Michael Fiveash, Kristi and Chad Sparks, Kayla Royal, Harrison and Gabby Beauchamp, Hayden and Meagan Beauchamp, Katy and Dan Munden, Justin and Julia Schlameus, Coby and Keri Green. He was the proud great-grandfather of: Cody and Balinda Dillon, Corbin Dillon, Kylie Dillon, Bryce and Alyssa Fiveash, Addison and RW Rosson, Pierson and Lexi Sparks, Carson, Bowen, Brinley, Kezlyn, Kolton, Madison, Miles, McCrae, Lori, Zoe, Lily, James, Jaden, and Tennison. He was also blessed with five great-great-grandchildren: Bentley, Rayna, Oaklynn, Sterling, and MJ.

Papa was born on December 17, 1932, in Pecos, Texas. He later welcomed a much-younger sister, Teri Beauchamp, who survives him along with her husband, Richard Lerma. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Papa attended school in Pecos, Texas, where he graduated at the young age of 16.

One of Papa’s most treasured memories was the night God changed his life forever. In March of 1949, during his senior year of high school, he and his best friend attended a teen dance—despite being raised Baptist, where dancing was strongly discouraged. That evening, he saw a beautiful young woman named JoAnn. After asking her to dance, then on a date, their love story began. She soon wore his senior ring, and just two and a half years later, they were married—beginning a marriage that spanned 74 joyful, faithful, and deeply loving years.

Papa later attended Tarleton State for advanced schooling and went on to live a life marked by service. Volunteering was one of his greatest passions.

His service included:
• Membership in the Lions Club beginning in April 1963
• Recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award (2005)
• Recipient of the Jack Wiech Texas Lions Camp Award (2019)
• Six years serving as Regional Director for the Texas Association of Life Underwriters
• Twice named “Life Underwriter of the Year” by the San Angelo Association of Life Underwriters
• And countless hours of service to many other organizations

Papa truly was one of the greats.

He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to grow and shape generations to come. He was loved beyond his own understanding and leaves a deep void in many hearts. Papa loved fully, served faithfully, and cherished his family passionately.

We will forever treasure the memories—learning to swim, riding bikes, typing lessons, work ethic, hospitality, servanthood, and what it means to love faithfully.

Papa, we love you. We will honor you by continuing your legacy of love, connection, and grace. We will care for Nanny and the generations behind us with the same devotion you modeled for us, expanding upon the beautiful blueprint you began—one stitched together with compassion, faith, and unwavering love.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church at 10:00am, with a private family graveside to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lions Club, Meals for the Elderly, or West Texas Boys Ranch.
