San Angelo

Tommie Weatherby of San Angelo passed away on April 7, 2026 at the age of 83. She was born on December 21, 1942 in San Angelo, TX to parents Charlie and Erma Ruth (Adair) Phillips.

She lived in Bronte, TX during her early years before her family moved to San Angelo, TX. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1960, where she was a member of the Tri-Hi-Y and the Tex-Anns drill team.

Tommie married Bill Weatherby in February of 1962 while Bill was stationed in Fort Polk, La.. After Bill’s service in the Army National Guard, they moved to San Angelo, and Tommie and Bill became proud parents to three daughters. Tommie served many years as room mother, Brownie and Girl Scouts leader, PTA president, and booster of every kind.

Tommie began working in the government department at Angelo State University, and she made a significant impact on both professors in the department and many students. In 1980, she became the first Membership Director at Bentwood Country Club. Tommie began a long and successful career in real estate beginning in 1982. She worked with Scott Allison Real Estate Company for most of her career. Tommie found her passion in helping many, many residents of San Angelo buy and sell their homes, as well as mentoring up-and-coming realtors. She proudly served as President of the San Angelo Association of Realtors in 1999. Tommie worked in real estate for over 40 years.

Tommie delightedly added the title of “Nana” to her life in 1998. She was adored by her 4 grandchildren and never missed a dance recital, golf tournament, awards ceremony, performance, or Grandparent’s Day. She made sure to say she had the “prettiest, smartest, most handsome, talented” grandkids in the room. She traveled far and wide as the biggest fan of her grandchildren’s activities.

Tommie loved taking her family on trips to Ruidoso, cooking for friends and family, vacationing at the lake, and playing Bridge with her Bridge Club. She was a crossword puzzle and Jeopardy genius.
