Ty Khantharasy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, at the age of 71. Born in Savannakhet, Laos to proud parents Phai and Khamla Khantharasy, Ty's journey through life was marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.


In 1979, Ty embarked on a courageous journey, leaving his homeland to seek refuge in the Ubon refugee camp in Thailand amidst the turmoil of war. A year later, in 1980, he began a new chapter in his life as he immigrated to the United States, initially settling in Kentucky before making San Angelo, Texas his cherished home for many years.


Ty was a beacon of resilience and compassion within his family, he remained a source of unwavering support and love to his siblings, Vong, Sue, Sit, Mon, Phon, and Air. Ty's kindness and dedication were evident throughout his life's journey, from his courageous move to the Ubon refugee camp in Thailand to his later years in the United States.


Throughout his professional career, Ty exemplified diligence and commitment. He dedicated over two decades of his life to Ethicon, where his hard work and expertise left an indelible mark. Following his retirement from Ethicon in 2009, Ty continued his service to the community by contributing his talents to the City of San Angelo for five fulfilling years.


Beyond his professional achievements, Ty found his greatest joy in family. He was a devoted father to his son Johnny. Ty's legacy extends to his eleven cherished grandchildren, each a testament to the love and values he instilled in his family.


Ty Khantharasy will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unyielding strength. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, leaving an enduring legacy of love and resilience. Ty's memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends, as they find solace in the enduring love and cherished memories he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.


A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home.
