Virginia Mary Klepac

January 16, 1935 — May 24, 2026

San Angelo

Virginia “Ginny” Mary Klepac, 91, passed away peacefully at home in San Angelo, Texas, on May 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 16, 1935, in Moulton, Texas, to Valentin Kozelsky and Annie Kubicek Kozelsky, Virginia lived a full and impactful life dedicated to faith, family, and service. She was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On May 28, 1960, Virginia married Edmund Frank Klepac at St. Ambrose Church in Wall, Texas, beginning a beautiful legacy of love and family.

Virginia was a lifelong learner with a true servant's heart. She attended the Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program, where she proudly earned her credentials. Upon graduation, she dedicated over 58 years to caring for the San Angelo community, working tirelessly at Shannon Memorial Hospital, St. John's Hospital, and the Texas State School. Even after her formal retirement, Virginia felt called to address the global nursing shortage. She continued her selfless work part-time at the Baptist Memorial Nursing Home, where she provided specialized, compassionate care in the Alzheimer’s Unit and wherever else she was needed.

A lifelong Catholic and devoted parishioner of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, Virginia found daily solace and strength in her faith. She actively served in numerous ministries, including the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and was a Third Order Franciscan, sharing many memorable spiritual adventures with her Franciscan brothers and sisters. As a Eucharistic Minister, she shared her warm smile, deep faith, and vibrant personality with everyone she met, and she dedicated quiet hours of her week to Eucharistic Adoration. Beyond her ministries, Virginia was the absolute biggest cheerleader and most enthusiastic supporter for her five children and eleven grandchildren, celebrating their every endeavor and attending countless sporting events. Her boundless love extended to her husband, her family, and the natural world. She poured her heart into gardening, loved playing sports, and cherished family game nights—especially playing dominoes. Known to be the life of the party, she thoroughly enjoyed extended family events, reunions, weddings, and entertaining those she loved.

She is survived by her children: Douglas Klepac, Carla Klepac Hernandez (Steve), Henry Klepac, Pamela Klepac-Tulensru Wilson (Don), and Kathleen Klepac; her grandchildren: Wesley Klepac (Shannon), Stephen Hernandez, Cody Klepac (Jetton), Kristen Hernandez Montgomery (Connor), Casey Klepac, Victoria Tulensru (Jeremiah Harrell), Hannah Hernandez, Annaleah Tulensru, and Noel Nehemiah Tulensru; 11 grandchildren and 14 cherished great-grandchildren; her sibling Anita Schaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Frank Klepac, parents Valentin and Annie Kozelsky, her granddaughter Hayley Klepac, her brothers Joe, Henry, and Julius Kozelsky, and her sisters Gertrude Heinrich, Henritta Franke, Georgie Mae Pohl, and Irene Braden. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation: Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM at Cathedral Heart of the Sacred Heart.

Funeral Mass: Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, officiated by Rev. Msgr. Larry J. Droll. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Our family is deeply grateful to the compassionate teams at Shannon Home Health and Hospice of San Angelo. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the countless caregivers, especially Jeannie Torres and Cathy Dickison. Their loving care and professional support brought immense peace of mind to our family and allowed Virginia to be comfortable in the peace of her own home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to “Hospice of San Angelo”, “Meals for the Elderly”, “Catholic Outreach Services”, or a “Living Tribute”.
