Willard "Eugene" "Gene" Lee

Gene Lee, 90, passed away on May 18, 2025, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in San Angelo, Texas, after complications due to Alzheimer’s.

Graveside Service and Burial will be on Thursday. May 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Eden Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carlene Peek Lee and parents John and Marjorie Lee. Gene is survived by his daughter Sherry Lee Burchell and husband Randy of Abilene; a son Sammy Lee and wife Beth of San Angelo; 5 grandchildren, Londi Wynkoop (John) of North Carolina, Stevie Burchell of Bastrop, Jessica Lundquist (Bryan) of Boerne, Kaytlynn Lewis of Abilene, and Slade Lee of Dallas; great grandchildren are Harper and Owen Lundquist. Gene is also survived by one brother, Coy Lee and wife Marylan of San Antonio.

Gene was born on October 18, 1934, to John and Margie Lee in Eden, Texas. Gene graduated from Eden High School and attended Baylor University on a football scholarship. He married Carlene Peek in Eden on July 22, 1954. He has resided in Waco, Abilene, and San Angelo, before retiring near Junction in 1990. He was a member of College Street Church of Christ in Junction. After college, Gene became an Insurance Salesman in which he excelled; and could always be found outdoors either hunting or fishing.
