William “Jerry” Bruner was born in Chester South Carolina to Cvella and William Bruner on September 20, 1937. He served in the Air Force and was Stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX. He met Alice Sherwood in Abilene and they were married January 1961. He began his career in Abilene with West Texas Utilities and was transferred to San Angelo in 1966. He retired from WTU after 34 years. He also volunteered at Meals for the Elderly. One of his favorite past times was to meet friends for coffee at the Dunbar. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother John Bruner. Mr. Bruner is survived by his wife Alice, children Lucinda and Richard Herrera, Juanita and Steven Thompson, grandchildren Baylor Herrera, Jonathan Thompson, Meagan Thompson, sister Barbara Forbis, brother-in-law Walter Sherwood. The Family would like to thank St. Gabriel’s Hospice, and Shannon Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to St. Gabriel’s Hospice, Meals for the Elderly, Glenn Meadows or a Charity of your choice. A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2018. A graveside service will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 23, 2018. Family and friends can sign the online register book at www.harper-funeralhome.com.
